Necessity is the mother of Invention

The surprising resultant footage showed that sheep could only eat from the restricted settings when they had saliva on their tongue. Once the saliva had dried out, sheep had to wait for it to build back up again before revisiting the feeder. He immediately knew he was on to something good. Consequently, he launched Advantage Feeders in 2006. Since our inception, our sole focus has been livestock feeding equipment and systems to ensure the best possible pasture and feed utilisation. We concentrate all our efforts to extract the best possible results for our customers and the wider farming community. This strong results-based and customer-focused approach means that we are always conducting field trials to measure results and further develop our systems in order that you profit from the lessons we learn. We truly want to assist farmers’ businesses to become as robust and profitable as possible – it’s our driving passion.
We test all our feeders on the usual ruminants such as cattle, sheep, goats and deer. We also stand by what we make, with an industry-leading five-year warranty on all of our products. We have refused to rest on our laurels. Since 2007 we have released a series of hay and mineral feeders featuring the same focus on innovation and continual improvement. 2007 saw the first Cradle Hay Feeder developed to enable feeding full round bales to stock in an elevated position without requiring a front-end loader to put bales in them. The Cradle Hay Feeder soon became part of a family, with the Sliding Gate and Tray Hay Feeders added shortly thereafter. In typical innovative fashion, we then added the Hay Feeder Roof to deliver extra benefits to the Cradle and Tray Hay Feeder users. We are now international, having taken our feeders to the world, selling to thousands of farmers in ten vastly differing overseas markets. Our feeders are tested and performing well in some of Earth’s most extreme climatic conditions. Of course, this benefits our Australian heartland customers, as we have learnt how farmers in different countries run their operations. For example, creep feeding wasn’t a widespread practice within Australia. After seeing how beneficial it was to overseas farmers, we took their ideas and developed them further. We knew it would be of huge benefit to Australian farmers. We are constantly innovating and implementing improvements to our feeders that benefit farmers all over the world. If it’s an improvement or feature that would be profitable to farmers – we will incorporate it into our way of doing things, into our systems and into our culture.Want to learn more? Other than all the expected product information, our brochures also contain information on how the systems maximise rumen performance and decrease pasture consumption.
